Wedding Picture Perfect Event

Five months post-engagement, and wedding fever has well and truly set in over here at TSS HQ - there might still be fifteen months until the big day but we're feeling organised and raring to go! Our plan of action hinges on the idea that if we can get most of the 'big' things ticked off this year, then we can spend 2019 cruising towards the wedding with minimal stress and just enjoy the moment.

So part of being able to achieve that is doing our research now, and we have certainly been busy bees! You can keep up to date with my full wedding planning journey over at Braw Brides, where I'm the resident 'blogging bride' until the big day, but in snippet form: we've set the date, chosen and secured our venue, chosen our bridesmaids/best men/ushers, booked the band and confirmed the photographer. Phew.

But there's plenty to still be done, and so I'm taking all opportunities to look at what's out there for us and meet lots of different suppliers - so when the invitation to the 'Wedding Picture Perfect' event on June 28th popped into my inbox, I knew straightaway I'd have to attend.

The event is based on the idea that everyone deserves to look and feel their very best on their big day. Research has revealed that over 30% of married women don't like the way they look in their wedding photos, and 38% of brides wish they'd gone for different hair and makeup. So Wedding Picture Perfect has brought together a group of specially selected wedding experts and brands to help make 'wedding album regret' a thing of the past.

There's an amazing selection of suppliers present at the showcase, in the gorgeous surroundings of The Library inside The Principal Edinburgh George Street - a glamorous wedding venue option if there ever was one! Many of the suppliers have been selected to help brides-to-be and the bridal party learn some top tips to look and feel their best; Dr Nestor from the Medical & Cosmetic Centre will be leading the charge, providing expert advice on aesthetic treatments and skin health, while New Town Dental will be giving advice on achieving a 'winning smile' in the wedding photographs and MUA Eve Learmonth will be demonstrating key makeup looks for contemporary brides.

Style is covered by Olive Jones Bridal (where I've recently been for an appointment, and it was truly dreamy!), a team of Jenners' personal shoppers, who'll advise on colours, trends and what's appropriate for wedding guest outfits, and beautiful accessories brand Polly & Bella. Manic planners (like me!) will love the offering from stationery brand Busy B, and if you're just thinking about the honeymoon, safari experts from travel company Outbound in Africa will be on hand to help you dream up your perfect itinerary.

The event will be on June 28th, from 6pm until 8.30pm - perfect timing to nip along with your mum or your bride squad, and then you can head over to the bar in The Principal for a champagne debrief! Tickets are just £10 and available to purchase here, but you can also head over to my Instagram where I'm giving away three pairs of tickets too...
